Software Demand Trends During COVID-19

As businesses are being forced to go virtual, there are some categories that are trending more than others. We leveraged the Google Trends API to track some of these top software category trends below. 

Project Management Software

Basecamp is a remote software company based in Chicago, Illinois. The firm was co‑founded in 1999 by Jason Fried, Carlos Segura, and Ernest Kim as a web design company.

Trello is a web-based Kanban-style list-making application which is a subsidiary of Atlassian. 

Asana is a web and mobile application designed to help teams organize, track, and manage their work.

CRM Software, Inc. is an American cloud-based software company headquartered in San Francisco, California. 

Insightly, Inc. is a private computer technology company headquartered in San Francisco, California.

Pipedrive is a cloud-based sales software company with offices in Tallinn and Tartu, Estonia; New York City, New York; St. Petersburg, Florida; Lisbon, Portugal, London, United Kingdom and Prague, Czech Republic.

Zoom provides software, including a mobile app, for video-telephony, online chat, and business telephone systems.

Formerly known as Google Hangouts, Google Meet is a communication software product developed by Google.

GoToMeeting is a web-hosted service created and marketed by LogMeIn. It is an online meeting, desktop sharing, and video conferencing software package that enables the user to meet with other computer users, customers, clients or colleagues via the Internet in real time.

Cisco Webex is an American company that develops and sells web conferencing and videoconferencing applications.

Tableau Software is an American interactive data visualization software company founded in January 2003 by Christian Chabot, Pat Hanrahan and Chris Stolte, in Mountain View, California. 

ooker Data Sciences was an American computer software company headquartered in Santa Cruz, California before it was acquired by Google Cloud Platform. 

Domo, Inc. is a cloud software company based in American Fork, Utah, United States. It specializes in business intelligence tools and data visualization.

LastPass is a freemium password manager that stores encrypted passwords online.

KeePass Password Safe is a free and open-source password manager primarily for Windows.

AnyDesk is a proprietary remote desktop tool distributed by AnyDesk Software GmbH. 

TeamViewer is a proprietary software application for remote control, desktop sharing, online meetings, web conferencing and file transfer between computers.

LogMeIn, Inc. is a provider of software as a service and cloud-based remote connectivity services for collaboration, IT management and customer engagement, founded in 2003 and based in Boston, Massachusetts.
