How Many Network Effects Are There?

By Joe

Identifying the 14th Network Effect

Have identified over 13 different types of network effects in the last 15 years, James Currier, a Managing Partner at NFX discovers another layer called the expertise network effect. Products that have these expert network effects typically allow professionals to do their jobs.

These products essentially create an ecosystem where the professionals parlay their expertise with these products to offer their services or leverage their knowledge of the platform in-house. This allows them to be embedded into the ecosystem and community which further enables them to evangelize the product for the company.
